Great Presentations Produce

When asked by a University Student how to get ahead in the business world, Warren Buffet responded:  “Whether you like it or not, you need to get really good at public speaking.”

There are business presentations happening every day around the world, and many of the presenters have not had public speaking skills training.  Learning how to speak in public is just as important as learning how to do your job or anything else you want to succeed in.  If you want to get great results from your presentations you need to have a great presentation.

Great content and great delivery will produce a great presentation.  But if you do not know what makes up a great presentation, how are you going to get those great results?  Even if you are comfortable speaking in public and think you are a great presenter, you can get much better and get greater results.

There are many resources and outlets for you to develop your public speaking skills.  There are hundreds of books out there, thousands of free articles on line, and coaches and trainers who specialize in helping business professionals become great presenters.

Top Performance conducts seminars, corporate training programs, and individual coaching sessions.  We also have free articles on our website (www.publicspeakingcanbefun.com), several books, a workbook, and an audio program that helps people gain the skills they need to develop public speaking skills.

In today’s society we don’t have a lot of prep time before we are assigned to give an important presentation.  That is why my books and programs are designed to help people develop their skills in a quick and easy fashion. In addition I recommend to all of my clients to join a Toastmasters Club (www.toastmasters.org) – a safe place to practice your skills.

The only way to improve your public speaking is to 1) know what to do and 2) to do it as much as possible.  One of the things you need to know is how to present with total confidence so that your audience will have confidence in what you are presenting. One tip is to recognize that your audience is on your side and wants you to succeed as much as you do.

Other tips are to present from the center of the room, have excellent posture, and stop your nervous fidgeting.  But first you need to create a fabulous presentation that you feel good about.  The best way to prepare a presentation is to get focused on the reason why you are giving the presentation and add stories, examples, and analogies to hone your message.  Personal stories are the best because it helps you too connect with your audience.  Something many presenters are missing out on.

Many people who fear public speaking fear it because they have not learned the tools on how to create and deliver a great presentation.  If you are one of these people, consider a coaching session with a presentation skills expert.  Many of my clients who come to see me for the first time are feeling anxious, fearful, and stressed out!  But they leave feeling relaxed, excited, and motivated to prepare and deliver a dynamic presentation.

Poor presentations produce poor results.
Average presentations produce average results.
Great presentations produce great results.

Everyone has the ability to become a great presenter, even you!
